Placer Wine Trail

Last month myself and a girl friends went up to Auburn for some wine tasting. I had never been up to Auburn wine tasting but had so much fun. The weather was perfect. We visited 3 wineries starting with PaZa and ending the day at Ciotti.

Women's March Sacramento

After my mom guilt tripped me for not attending the last women's march, I definitely felt obligated to go to this year's. It was an amazing experience and very powerful. There were so many people marching for so many different reasons. In today's political climate where I often feel saddened and angry about the future of our country, at this women's march I felt hopeful.

Nevada City Hike

On a slightly overcast morning myself and two girlfriends took a brisk 9 mile walk on the cascade canal trail in Nevada city. The trail was flat which made it easier but I haven't walked that much in a very long time! We ended the day with some beers at Crooked Lane Brewery in Auburn.

Santa Cruz Christmas Weekend

Every Christmas myself and my family spend a weekend in Santa Cruz. This year we went a few days before Christmas since I didn't have the day after off. We stayed in the very cool Hotel Paradox and went to the boardwalk during the day.

Land Park Holiday Photos

Last month I did some holiday photos for a family I babysit for. When photographing babies/younger kids you never really know how the shoot is going to go but thankfully Elizabeth, their two year old was great the whole time!

New York Trip

For my friend Laura's birthday we took a trip to New York the weekend before Halloween. We were there for four days and had a blast. It only rained one day while we were there and the rest of the time the weather was perfect.

Auburn Pumpkin Nights

Late October myself and some girlfriends went to go check out Auburn Pumpkin Nights. Pumpkin nights takes place in a few different states and features some really cool pumpkin art.

Bozio Family Portraits

Last month I did some family portraits in old town Sacramento. This was my 3rd time doing portraits for this family and Old Sacramento was a great location. It's been so cool to look back at my past sessions with them and to see how much the kids have grown.

Apple Hill

Mid September myself and a friend took a day trip up to Apple Hill. We went on the first day of fall and it was packed! We stopped at some of the bigger orchards such as High Hill and Boa Vista but also checked out the smaller 24 Carrot Farm. We ended our day with some wine tasting at Boeger.

Santa Cruz Day Trip

A few weekends ago myself and two friends spent the day at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We got there an hour after they opened and as it got later in the day it got so busy! I would definitely recommend getting there early. It was pretty cloudy the majority of the day but around 3 the sun came out. We had a great time going on the rides and eating junk food. My friend even won a cute little rainbow bull.

Gather Oak Park-August

Last month Unseen Heroes kicked off 2nd Thursdays with Gather Oak Park. Filled with food trucks, music, and drinks, Gather is always a fun way to spend a Thursday night.

Truckee Weekend Trip

Last month I took a trip to Truckee with some of my girlfriends from college. It was a great way for us all to reconnect especially since not all of us live in Sacramento anymore. We did a little hiking and hung out at Donner Lake.

Gather Oak Park-July

Last July I attended another Gather night hosted by Unseen Heroes. While it was pretty hot there were tons of people all having a good time. Gather in Oak Park runs every 2nd Thursday of the month, May through October.

Memorial Day Weekend In Truckee

For memorial day weekend I took a trip up to Truckee. I've been going up to Truckee every summer since I was 1 with my family and they recently decided to buy property up there! I love the mountain air and just hanging out at Donner Lake. The weather was so nice, it was crazy that there was still snow at ground level!

Gather Oak Park May

Every 2nd Thursday (May-October) Unseen Heroes hosts Gather in the Triangle District in Oak Park. Filled with food trucks, drinks, and music, it's a great way to end the week. I love checking out all the different food trucks and enjoying a drink while listening to local DJ's and bands.

Locke, CA

At the beginning of the year I took a short day trip to the town of Locke. Located just off Highway 5 Locke is full of history. The town was built by Chinese immigrants during the early 20th century. There's so many cool little details and lots of great photo opportunities! You can learn more about the town of Locke and it's history here

Rebuilding Together

Last April I had the awesome opportunity to volunteer with Rebuilding Together for their National Rebuilding Day. As a photographer I took photos of the hardworking volunteers renovating different sites throughout San Francisco. The first site was Precita Eyes Muralists, a non profit arts education group. The 2nd and 3rd sites were residential. Giving back while doing something that I love was an amazing experience (especially since i'm not handy at all!)

Art Street

Earlier this year I was lucky enough to be able to check out ArtStreet, a temporary project located at The Mill at Broadway. ArtStreet featured installations from many different and talented Sacramento artists. ArtStreet was produced by M5 Arts who had also organized Art Hotel prior. Unfortunately I didn't get to check out Art Hotel so I was so glad to be able to experience ArtStreet. You can learn more about what M5 Arts does here

Buford Family Portraits

Earlier this month I did some family portraits for a coworker. We shot at the Sacramento state capitol park which is one of my favorite locations for family portraits.

Day Trip To San Francisco

San Francisco is such a cool city. I'd go way more often if parking/driving wasn't such a nightmare. Thankfully it wasn't too bad the last time I went. First we stopped at Southern Pacific Brewing Co. in the mission and then headed to my favorite boba place of all, Boba Guys. Conveniently located in my favorite SF neighborhood, Hayes Valley. Then we checked out the Palace of Fine Arts and walked around the Marina district. Finally we ended with dinner at Tacolicious.
