Pismo Beach

A few weekends ago I took a spontaneous trip to Pismo Beach. I had never been before but already want to go back. While you're there I definitely recommend heading to the Madonna Inn for some cake, it's amazing.

Weekend in Truckee

Last weekend myself and some friends took a trip up to Truckee. On Saturday we went to Boreal. The boys went snowboarding and myself and my girlfriends went tubbing. That night we went to Boomtown Casino and sadly did not win anything however we still had a great weekend. We even had time to build a snowman!

Black Chasm Cavern Day Trip

A few weekends ago myself and my boyfriend took a trip to Black Chasm Cavern, a small cave located on a national park with tons of awesome formations inside. We took a guided tour and stopped for lunch in Sutter Creek on our way back.

University Falls

Coming back from Truckee myself and the boyfriend decided to adventure out to University Falls in Quintette, CA. I’d say it’s about an hour from Auburn off of highway 49. It’s definitely out in the middle of nowhere and we passed through some really small towns.

Overall we had a really fun time. I would’ve gotten completely lost if my boyfriend hadn’t been there before though.

Weekend in Tahoe

Last May  I spent the weekend in South Lake Tahoe. I stayed at the  adorable Base Camp Hotel. I loved all the entire decor and the interior design. During the day I took a little trip to Emerald Bay.

Ardenwood Farms

There's always something to do in the Bay Area! Growing up, myself and my family would come here at least once a month. You can spend a whole day here, exploring the property, taking a tour of the mansion, and seeing all the farm animals. Make sure to go when the horse drawn train ride and mansion tours are in season.

A Day In Apple Hill

Right past Placerville off of highway 50 are plenty of beautiful apple orchards. Many include wineries, farm animals, and other fun activities. It's a super fun day trip for those in northern California.

La Bahia Apartments

Last winter my family and I took a family vacation to Santa Cruz. While on our way to the boardwalk my mom stumbled upon this gorgeous but crumbling apartment complex just across the street from the arcade. On a street filled with new boutique shops and hipster cafes, this apartment complex definitely felt out of place but at the same time blended in with its surroundings. At least the exterior did.

We ventured inside and did some exploring. It was gorgeous. Original mission style architecture, but unfortunately falling apart. I was surprised people were still living here despite many of the obvious safety hazards.

After doing a bit of research I found that it was built in 1926 and that a few movie scenes were filmed there. Last year the city of Santa Cruz approved plans to transform the apartments into an upscale hotel. While the place needs some TLC, I wish they could keep most of the original details and not completely renovate the apartments.

I’m not sure what the status of the La Bahia apartments are now. I haven’t been back since taking these photos but I’m glad I got to see it in it’s original state before being overhauled.

A Day In Stonyford

A few months ago I took a day trip to the very small town of Stonyford, CA. After getting off 5 South you take a bunch of small windy roads for about an hour and arrive in the town of Stonyford. I have no idea why anyone would want to live there. It’s hot, dry, and in the middle of nowhere but we still had a fun day. My boyfriend’s uncle brought up a bunch of guns so I watched them shoot targets for awhile and then walked around to take some pictures.

There were some cool old jeep’s, including the army one pictured above. Two of the neighbor’s dogs followed us around for about an hour while we explored.

TBD Festival

TBD is a music and arts festival that takes place in Sacramento every summer. This was my 3rd year attending.

Colombus Day Weekend

Spent a couple days up in Truckee last weekend with my old roommate. It's so crazy to see the Donner Lake incredibly low.
