Weekend in Truckee

Last weekend myself and some friends took a trip up to Truckee. On Saturday we went to Boreal. The boys went snowboarding and myself and my girlfriends went tubbing. That night we went to Boomtown Casino and sadly did not win anything however we still had a great weekend. We even had time to build a snowman!

University Falls

Coming back from Truckee myself and the boyfriend decided to adventure out to University Falls in Quintette, CA. I’d say it’s about an hour from Auburn off of highway 49. It’s definitely out in the middle of nowhere and we passed through some really small towns.

Overall we had a really fun time. I would’ve gotten completely lost if my boyfriend hadn’t been there before though.

Weekend in Tahoe

Last May  I spent the weekend in South Lake Tahoe. I stayed at the  adorable Base Camp Hotel. I loved all the entire decor and the interior design. During the day I took a little trip to Emerald Bay.

Ardenwood Farms

There's always something to do in the Bay Area! Growing up, myself and my family would come here at least once a month. You can spend a whole day here, exploring the property, taking a tour of the mansion, and seeing all the farm animals. Make sure to go when the horse drawn train ride and mansion tours are in season.

A Day In Apple Hill

Right past Placerville off of highway 50 are plenty of beautiful apple orchards. Many include wineries, farm animals, and other fun activities. It's a super fun day trip for those in northern California.

China Camp

Growing up in Berkeley I was really lucky to experience so many things that the Bay Area has to offer. Being able to drive an hour or so to gorgeous beaches and state parks makes me feel really lucky to live in California.

While I was home for Christmas my parents had looked up this state park in San Rafael and decided it would be fun to check it out for a day.

In the 1880’s groups of Chinese immigrants settled here where they would fish for shrimp and then send the majority of it back to China. There’s a small museum which goes more in depth about their story. The last photo shows a general store where you can get coffee and some snacks. The man that runs it is a grandchild of some of the first immigrants that settled at this location.

It’s a really cool little area with lots of opportunities to get some nice photos.

About 30-45 min drive from SF
Parking is around $3

TBD Festival

TBD is a music and arts festival that takes place in Sacramento every summer. This was my 3rd year attending.

Colombus Day Weekend

Spent a couple days up in Truckee last weekend with my old roommate. It's so crazy to see the Donner Lake incredibly low.
